On August 15, 2018, a seminar on the consultation draft of the national standard for "Requirements and Test Methods for Right Turn Warning Sound of Vehicles" was held in Qufu, Shandong. More than 30 representatives from over a dozen organizations, including China Automotive Technology and Research Center Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "CATARC"), Sinotruk, Dongfeng, FAW, Foton, Daimler, Handeli, Qufu Tianbo, Shandong Tianhai, etc., attended the meeting. The meeting received strong support from the Shandong Provincial Standardization Association and the local government of Qufu. Qufu Tianbo Automobile Electric Appliance Co., Ltd. hosted the meeting, and Sun Zhipeng, Director of the First Office of the Standards Institute of CATARC, presided over the meeting.

At the beginning of the meeting, Yang Xiaodong, Deputy Mayor of Qufu City, and Zheng Xia, Director of the Shandong Standardization Association, delivered welcoming speeches. Sun Zhipeng first introduced the progress of the standard project for "Requirements and Test Methods for Right Turn Warning Sound of Vehicles". The National Standards Committee had issued a revision plan for this standard in June 2018. After more than two years of work, a preliminary draft for public consultation has been formed. After discussion at this meeting, it is planned to solicit opinions from the public.

Subsequently, Li Yusheng from Sinotruk gave a detailed introduction to the overall situation of the standard development, and explained the project background, the achievements obtained during the research process, and the history of standard development to the participating representatives. Representatives from Handley and Shandong Tianhai Company respectively presented the verification test development status of complete vehicles and components. At the meeting, the participating representatives discussed the draft of the "Requirements and Test Methods for Vehicle Right Turn Signal Sound" exposure draft one by one, and had in-depth exchanges on the combination form of signal sound, complete vehicle test requirements, and test methods. They also clearly proposed that the standard should pay attention to the distinction between complete vehicle tests and component tests. After repeated discussions, the participating representatives reached a consensus on the technical content and terms of the standard.
Finally, Sun Zhipeng, on behalf of the drafting team, made arrangements for the follow-up work and clarified the key tasks for the next stage. The convening of this meeting has improved the content of the draft of "Requirements and Test Methods for Vehicle Right Turn Signal Sound", achieved the expected results, and provided strong technical support for the release of the standard consultation draft.
