The following are incorrect ways to use the clutch spring:
(1) Usage exceeding the maximum compression limit
Stress is generated, leading to wear and tear. As the spring approaches the end of its lifespan, its wire part will gradually become densely packed. This is because the spring constant increases, causing the load curve to rise accordingly, which in turn generates high stress and leads to spring breakage. Please do not use it for more than 300,000 cycles.
(2) Use without pre-compression
Due to gaps, the spring vibrates up and down, causing it to twist. If preloaded, the spring is relatively stable. However, if not preloaded, the spring may break due to excessive tension during initial use.
(3) Poor flatness of the assembly surface
Poor parallelism of the assembly surface can cause the spring to twist, resulting in localized high-pressure fracture. In cases of poor parallelism, the spring may twist and fracture after more than 300,000 cycles of use. Please improve the parallelism of the assembly surface under the condition of not exceeding 300,000 cycles of use, otherwise the spring may also fracture due to prolonged use.
(4) When the guide pin length and the depth of the counterbore are relatively short
If the guide pin is too short, it can cause wear and fracture of the guide pin head and spring. The ideal length of the guide pin is set to be more than 1/2 of the spring length, and please chamfer the C3 corner.
(5) Use of springs in series
When used in series, the spring is bent and exceeds the length of the guide pin or counterbore, leading to fracture due to the same cause. Additionally, slight differences in the load capacity of the spring itself result in the weaker ones experiencing greater compression and ultimately fracture.
(6) When fragments and foreign objects are mixed during use
The inclusion of foreign objects can render the effective coil section useless, with only the other sections being compressed. This results in a reduction in the actual number of effective coils, leading to high stress near the surface and ultimately fracture. Please avoid including foreign objects in the spring.
